Clearly, this Ludwig is copying and using Hans Zimmer's style.
  • Very Impressive!

I wasn't sure what to expect going to see this movie over the weekend to see a Christopher Nolan movie WITHOUT Hans Zimmer doing the music. As the movie is going, I found myself really really noticing the music in great ways. This soundtrack is really excellent. Maybe a little too electronic for some, but I thought that it fits the movie really well. At the end of the movie, I found that I didn't feel like I missed Zimmer at all. Well done, Ludwig! I'm a very big fan of this soundtrack and after this and his work on The Mandalorian, you have gotten a new fan.

This soundtrack is a tour de force!! I bought it right after my first viewing of Tenet and have been listening to it on my Bose headphones on repeat just grinning like a fool. This album makes me feel things that I didn’t think a soundtrack could on its own. “Posterity” is like listening to the span of a person’s entire life with all the highs and lows, joy and despair that comes with living. Rainy Night is a delicious assault on the senses that offers you an opportunity to exorcise your demons. I’m just in awe. It’s rare to see a piece of art that can work so well parallel to a film and on its own. The Academy needs to give Mr. Göransson ALL the sound Oscars right after they give Jennifer Lame all her statue for editing.

It’s not easy following Hans Zimmer’s footsteps when creating a soundtrack for Nolan, but I think Ludwig did a great job! He gave it his own sound, and crafted a soundtrack that can match the adrenaline of scenes while still threading poignant and emotional motifs throughout. I also love in the movie when the soundtrack is reversed to match the scene, a nice touch. Some standout tracks for me are Meeting Neil, Posterity, and a Rainy Night in Tallinn. Oh and Travis Scott’s the Plan was a fun addition :)

This score is very Hans Zimmer-ish and coming from me that is a compliment. Goransson was able to bring his own style and flavor to the movie while musically delivering what we have come to expect from a Nolan movie of this calibre.

I don't usually buy soundtracks before seeing the movie but glad I did. Hell, I never write a review. But this soundtrack is just awesome. I can hear it going very well to a Christopher Nolan sci fi movie.
